Dos Herencias—Two Legacies—began long before our first vintage. It began in Madera, California, where we grew up close to the land and learned that wine is shaped long before it enters a cellar.
We watched our parents work for a multigenerational farming family. We saw the discipline behind winter pruning, the patience required through the growing season, and the effort demanded by harvest. Agriculture was not simply around us; it raised us.
Dos Herencias exists to honor the people whose hands sustain California wine country—and to carry their knowledge, pride, and sacrifice into every bottle we make.
II is not simply a number. It represents two brothers, two inheritances, and a shared belief: those who know the work of the vineyard should have the opportunity to tell its story through wine.
We walk the rows and taste, block by block, until the fruit is ready. The picking date is decided in the vineyard.
Fruit is picked by hand and goes straight into bins, while the morning is still cool.
Clusters run through the destemmer. Stems and leaves come out; the berries stay whole.
Destemmed fruit goes to tank. From here the work is temperature, time and daily attention.
After fermentation the wine is pressed off gently and moved to French oak.
Our wines begin with Napa Valley grapes selected for character, balance, and a clear sense of place. We bring to each lot the perspective of people who understand both sides of the process: the demanding work of growing fruit and the disciplined craft of turning it into wine.
